What is Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas?
The Ministry of Home Affairs is implementing a scheme called the”Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)” to deal with cyber crimes in a coordinated and comprehensive manner.
In order to create awareness amongst students of schools & colleges, teachers and parents it is proposed to observe “Cyber Jaagrookta (Awareness) Diwas'' on the first wednesday of
every month in all Schools/Colleges/Universities/Panchayati Raj Institutions(PRI) and Municipalities by involving District Magistrates Police Authorities, Officers of Education
Department etc.
About the Theme:
In the present era, every aspect of human interaction is being touched by the realm of cyberspace. The Internet, is changing our world in many ways by providing platforms for people to communicate, engage, negotiate, and collaborate with one another in all aspects of life (academic/professional, personal, social etc). It has, in a way, become another space for interaction of individuals just like we interact in our homes, schools, office, neighborhood etc. The merging of our personal, social and professional space with cyberspace, has had an impact on our lives including our mental and emotional wellbeing.
In this backdrop it becomes pertinent to draw attention to this issue and hold discussions so as to not only raise awareness but also learn to proactively and optimally use cyberspace. Hence, In continuation of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas Series, for the month of April CIET-NCERT has planned to organize the cyber safety and security sessions on the theme: Mental and Emotional Wellbeing in the Era of Cyberspace.
Students, Teachers, Teacher Educators, Parents, Administrators, General Public, etc.
