Theme for March, 2023 - Ethics in Emerging Digital Space

What is Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas?
The Ministry of Home Affairs is implementing a scheme called the ”Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)” to deal with cyber crimes in a coordinated and comprehensive manner. In order to create awareness amongst students of schools & colleges, teachers and parents it is proposed to observe “Cyber Jaagrookta (Awareness) Diwas'' on the first wednesday of every month in all Schools/Colleges/Universities/Panchayati Raj Institutions(PRI) and Municipalities by involving District Magistrates Police Authorities, Officers of Education Department etc.

About the Theme:
For the month of March, 2023 CIET-NCERT has planned sessions on the theme “Ethics in Emerging Digital Space”. The need for a new, shared data ethos is becoming increasingly important as digital technologies are integrated into the developing digital realm at an ever-deeper level. Digital ethics are interpersonal, social, organisational, national norms that govern how people/digital users should conduct and behave in the digital world. Ethics in digital space deals with the collection of laws and moral principles that regulate how people interact with one another inside of organizations as well as more widely in institutions and society when computer technology is used as a medium.

Four live interaction sessions will be conducted on the given theme, that is on the first Wednesday i.e. 01/03/2023 & the subsequent Friday’s (i.e. 03/03/2023, 10/03/2023, 17/03/2023 & 24/03/2023). At the end of the session series, a comprehensive quiz will be launched based on all the sessions conducted in the month of March, 2023 on “Ethics in Emerging Digital Space” as a part of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas.

Objectives:

  • Enlighten about digital ethics in emerging digital space.
  • To enhance internet ethics for various user groups and security measures.
  • To manage oneself ethically, professionally and in a clinically sound manner via online and digital mediums.
  • Awareness about security measures in e-commerce and banking transactions.
  • Understanding ethical practices in online education.
  • To focus attention on digital ethics and creating sensitivity to the threats and vulnerabilities in emerging digital space.

Step: 3 Participation in Post-Session Activity and Certification: Post session quiz will be conducted based on the 5 sessions listed in the programme schedule, the link of the quiz will be released at the end the 5th session on 24th March’ 2023. To get a certificate, participate and score 50% & above. Participants are allowed to take 3 attempts at the quiz and the certificate will be issued.
