National Education Policy 2020 stated in clause 23.6, “Teaching-learning eContent will continue to be developed by all states in all regional languages, as well as by the NCERT, CIET, CBSE, NIOS, and other bodies/ institutions, and will be uploaded onto the DIKSHA platform. The budget of 2023 also aims to promote a more equitable and inclusive education system across India. As a part of the Digital India Programme in the Budget, a large amount has been allocated for the development of the eContent to promote digital literacy across the country. It is also stated in clause 6.2.5, the importance of creating enabling mechanisms for providing Children With Special Needs, the same opportunities of obtaining quality education as any other child. It also emphasizes on the development of quality eContent in varied forms in all regional languages for a diverse group of learners including children with Special Needs (DIVYANG) and to empower students and teacher communities across India.
Moreover, eContent contributes to the overall convenience and efficiency of the teaching process. With digital resources readily available, educators can easily update and modify content to reflect the latest advancements and discoveries in their respective fields. eContent also allows for effortless distribution and sharing of educational materials, saving time and resources compared to traditional print-based materials. Furthermore, eContent enables educators to track and monitor learner progress, providing valuable insights into areas of strength and areas that may require additional support. The development of eContent empowers learners to take an active role in their learning process, facilitates a deep understanding of complex concepts, and includes varied learning styles.
In today's digital age, audio resources as a part of eContent have gained immense demand as a means of content dissemination. The manifold forms of audio formats like podcasts, audiobooks offer unique and accessible ways to engage and educate diverse learners. Every effective audio resource begins with a clear identification of the content in a contextualized manner and needs its objective to address. The development of audio resources supports learners from early childhood education to the adult learning environment, to retain the concepts and more information as well as make it easier for them to focus their attention. Teaching learning process has evolved with the growing use of audio-visual technology. Implementing these innovations in the classroom environment helps in improving achieving the learning level outcome.
