        NCERT held a live online discussion today on the occassion of the International Day of Yoga, 21 June. The event was
        graced by Prof. Shrinivas Varakhedi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Kavikulagaru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Prof Sridhar
        Srivastava, I/C Director, NCERT, Major Harsh Kumar, Secretary, NCERT, Prof. Amarendra Behera, Joint Director, CIET,
        NCERT, Prof. Madhusudan Penna, Dean, Faculty of Indian Religion, Philosophy, & Culture, Kavikulagaru Kalidas
        Sanskrit University,Prof. Gouri Srivastava, Head, DESS, NCERT, Dr. Kalapini Agasti, Head Dept. of Bharatiya Darshan,
        Dept. of Yogavijnan, Kavikulagaru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Mrs. Rashmi Jain, Research Scholar, Yoga trainer

         Obituary:
         Prof.  Siraj Anwar died on 29 April 2021 due to  COVID-19.  He was  a  Professor of
         History and Social Science Education. He had joined CIET a year back after getting
         transferred from DESS, NIE, NCERT. Before joining CIET he also worked as Head of
         Publication Division and Head of Planning and Monitoring Division of NCERT. He has
         left behind his wife and other family members. CIET expresses its deep sorrow on
         the sad demise of Prof. Anwar and expresses heartfelt condolences to the

         Shri Gambhir Singh died on 20 May, 2021 due to COVID-19 related complications.
         He worked as a LDC at the Joint Director's o ce, CIET, NCERT. He was born on 18
         August, 1962. He hailed from Uttarakhand and joined NCERT in 1982. He discharged
         his duties and responsibilities with aplomb. He has left behind his wife, son and two
         daughters. CIET expresses it's heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
