What is Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas?
The Ministry of Home Affairs is implementing a scheme called the ”Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)” to deal with cyber crimes in a coordinated and comprehensive manner. In order to create awareness amongst students of schools & colleges, teachers and parents it is proposed to observe “Cyber Jaagrookta (Awareness) Diwas'' on the first wednesday of every month in all Schools/Colleges/Universities/Panchayati Raj Institutions(PRI) and Municipalities by involving District Magistrates Police Authorities, Officers of Education Department etc.
About the Theme:
For the month of February, 2023 CIET-NCERT has planned sessions on the theme “Combating Cybercrimes”. Cybercriminals are constantly evolving and devising new methods to exploit vulnerabilities to steal valuable data. Additionally, they look to exploit human behavior and emotions. Despite having best-in-class defense systems and measures in place, many organizations still experience security breaches. It is often human error that has been a major contributing factor behind many data breaches. Cybersecurity awareness in order to combat cybercrimes is an ongoing process of educating and training individuals about the threats that lurk in cyberspace to prevent such threats and what they must do in the event of a security incident. With cybercrimes increasing significantly, cybersecurity awareness to combat such online threats is vital to keeping the workforce safe online.
Four live interaction sessions will be conducted on the given theme, that is on the first Wednesday i.e. 01/02/2023 & the subsequent Friday’s (i.e. 03/02/2023, 10/02/2023, & 17/02/2023). At the end of the session series, a comprehensive quiz will be launched based on all the sessions conducted in the month of February, 2023 on “Combating Cybercrimes” as a part of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas.
